Ethan's Ride

Freecycle.  Check it out.  It is a local "web site group" where people post useable stuff they don't want anymore.  We have given and received several things through this group and it is a cheap way to get stuff.  Yep! FREE! Anything from bikes to books to flower bulbs.

Any who..... I picked up a few {really trashed} BMX bikes in hopes that Josh could piece a useable bike out of them.  My evil scheme worked and this past summer Ethan was given his first bike.

So, he figured out how to push the pedals after a few minutes.  Pretty good considering this kid didn't even use the pedals on his tricycle.  He just kind of scooted along with his feet.

He seemed to have a great time but going on a slight incline gave him some trouble.

Going downhill was a whole other story......

....in that case, it was the brakes we were concerned about!

I'm kind of fuzzy on the details but after this ONE time on his bike, he didn't ride again.  I'm not 100% sure if he fell or what but he still hasn't gotten back on the horse.  Maybe this year.
